Live and Learn Designing: A bag for my MacBook Air

I made this denim laptop carrier out of repurposed jeans and an old denim dress.  I bought cotton print to line the inside and trim the strap. I plan to rework this some more and change the strap, removing it from the top of the outside pockets and sewing it on the sides. I might add another set of straps so it balances better when carried and put a couple of pockets on the inside as well, to keep things from scratching each other. And how about some velcro at the tops of the pockets to keep things from falling out?

This is design by living and learning, the old trial and error method. I could have gone on-line, to YouTube or Pinterest or Etsy to get ideas. But I wanted to experience the process of creating on my own, a personal needs-driven project, trial and error, the way people did things in the beginning when there were no exemplars. Dumb?  A waste of time?  Maybe for you, but for me this process was about the experience of figuring it out.
